How UniTalk works

Three steps, nothing to prepare.

  1. Pick a language and level

English, Japanese, Korean or Chinese — at the level you are now, from beginner to advanced.

  2. Get matched 1:1

UniTalk finds another student learning the same language at a level close to yours. Prefer your own university if you like.

  3. Talk freely

Topic questions appear on screen, so you never run out of things to say. No time limit — add each other as friends if it clicks.

Speak freely — safety is the default

You are always in control of the conversation.

  • Report or block right in the callBlocking ends the call and you will never be matched again. The person you report is not told who reported them.
  • Audio is never recordedVoices travel live between the two of you and are not stored anywhere.
  • Adults only (18+)Everyone agrees to the community rules before their first call.
  • Messages only between friendsYou can only add people you have talked with; unfriending or blocking stops their messages at once.
