Community Rules
Draft — pending legal review. Version web-draft-1 · updated 29 October 2026. The Vietnamese version is the primary text.
UniTalk is a place to practise speaking — everyone is learning, everyone makes mistakes. Every user is 18 or over and agrees to these rules before their first call.
Do
- Be respectful and patient, especially with beginners.
- Speak the session's language and stay on its topic; the questions on screen are there to help you both.
- Keep your personal details to yourself: do not share your phone number, address or other accounts with people you have just met.
- If you feel uncomfortable, end the call, block or report. You do not need to explain.
Do not
| Rule | Examples |
|---|---|
| Harassment, bullying, threats | Insults, mocking someone's pronunciation or looks, messaging someone who does not want it, threatening harm. |
| Sexual content | Sexual remarks or propositions, sexual harassment, pushing for dates, sending explicit content. |
| Minors | Anyone under 18 using UniTalk; any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers children. |
| Hate | Attacking someone for their ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or home region. |
| Spam, scams, advertising | Mass links, selling, asking for money, moving people to other apps for money or dating, impersonating someone. |
| Recording others without consent | Recording a call, screen-recording, or capturing and posting someone's messages or profile without their consent. UniTalk does not record calls — and neither may you. |
How to report and block
- During a call: tap the flag icon → Report or block (“Báo cáo hoặc chặn”).
- After a session: on the summary screen, choose Block (“Chặn”) or Report (“Báo cáo”).
- In messages: long-press a message → Report message (“Báo cáo tin nhắn”).
- Blocking ends any call in progress, removes the friendship and follows, and you will never be matched or message each other again.
- Reports are anonymous: the person reported is not told who reported them. When you report a message, we keep it and the surrounding messages as evidence.
- Cannot use the app? Write to support@unitalk.live.
What happens after a report
- Prioritised by danger. Reports about minors and threats are reviewed first; sexual harassment and hate are high priority. Several people reporting the same account within 24 hours also moves it up.
- The safety team reviews the report, the session facts and any messages involved (there is no audio, because calls are not recorded).
- Decision:
- No violation — the report is closed.
- Suspension — the account cannot be used for a period (up to 365 days); any session in progress ends at once.
- Permanent ban — for serious or repeated violations; the account is signed out on every device.
- Accounts that appear to belong to someone under 18 are suspended while we review them.
- Where the law requires it, we may provide information to the competent authorities.
Every decision is logged. If you think a decision is wrong, write to support@unitalk.live.
Message filter
Strongly offensive words are masked automatically. Messages with links or phone numbers are still delivered but are marked for review by the safety team. Details in the Privacy Policy.
